Mingoya is a rural community located in the municipality of Barbacoas, Nariño, Colombia. This region is home to a remarkable diversity of bird species, plants, and reptiles. Local inhabitants describe their land as a paradise, where everyday events can be anticipated through the messages they interpret from the songs of birds.

Mingoya: Land of Ornithologists is an animated documentary that explores the relationship between the local community and its birdlife, highlighting how social appropriation of knowledge and bird conservation can contribute to the region’s development.

For this project, I was responsible for the entire animation process, including character animation, bird animation, and the development of 3D camera movements. The animation was designed to create an immersive visual experience inspired by the natural environment of the region, using dynamic camera work and expressive motion to reinforce the documentary’s connection to nature and its unique ecosystem.
